What is Plastic reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery ?

It is the surgery of the shape in general, concerning all the body, from the toes to the tip of the hairs.
It is really  general surgery, since the fields of Plastic Surgery cover the surgery of the face ( rhinoplasty, face lifting, prominent ears, chin, eyelids, lipostructure of the face..) and of the total body (breast augmentation, breast reduction, abdomen, liposuction....etc..)

Plastic surgery exists for centuries, and was used  by ancient egyptians for the surgery of the nose. In France the specialty was created after the first World War, at the same time than in U.K. The first association of Plastic Surgery was named ?les gueules cassées"  "broken faces".

Then Plastic Surgery sprang  up with burns cares after the second World War.
At the same time , Aesthetic Surgery began in private practice. The first face lifting was performed in an appartement in Paris,  by a woman surgeon, Mrs Suzanne NOEL( in the early 20).
