Surgery : Eyelids surgery
The aim of aesthetic surgery of the eyelids , also called blepharoplasty, is to enlight the look, to give a natural aspect of good shape, by a removal of skin excess and of fat pads, on both superior and or inferior eyelids.
Usually, the goal of these procedures is to correct the aging and tired aspect of the regard.
The regard is the first contact that we have in a relationship with somebody and it gives immediately , and unconsciously, the age and the character of the person that you meet.
The surgery is done under general anesthesia, or local anesthesia, depending on every patient. This aspect must be discussed during your consultation. Also depending of the cases, only superior, or only inferior eyelids can be treated. When both superior and inferior eyelids are treated, the patient will stay at the clinic the night after the surgery, and will be free on the next morning.
Many techniques are available, and the results are stable in longstanding, and the residual scars are very light. The eyes are protected all along the surgery. Except in special cases this operation is not sponsored by the health insurances.Consequently, all the expenses attached to this surgery are included in a "package". Usually, the total costs are in average between 2500 and 4500 Euros, depending on the work to do. In practice, you will need about 10 full days to be able to show, because of the frequent black and blues on the eyelids.Some drugs taken previously to the surgery are prejudiciable , like aspirin which augment the bleeding. To take aspirin 10 days before any surgery is forbidden.
Immediately after the surgery , it is recommended to stay quiet, around 24 hours.The first 3 days, it is frequent to have a little irritation of the conjunctival lining. To wear lenses is not possible during about one month.
Stiches must be kept about 8 days, and the aspect of the eyes appears almost natural after two months.
